Did the Winter Roads Damage Your Vehicle?

The winter months wreak havoc on our cars, especially with the awful winter weather we’ve had this year.  With warmer weather on its way in, it is important to inspect your vehicle for any destruction the winter roads may have caused.  To some, a pre-trip vehicle inspection may sound outrageous but if you are driving a company-owned truck or vehicle, a pre-trip inspection is expected.  The reason for inspections is to help find defects and problems, maintain the vehicle, and help in case of accident investigation.

Mastery recently released a new VOD3 course title produced by content partner, Digital 2000, “Vehicle Inspections: Automobiles and Light Trucks.”  The course offers advice and tips for preparing and inspecting your vehicle for safe and reliable transportation. There are a number of things to check and inspect before leaving, the list can include:

  • Engine oil
  • Transmission fluid
  • Engine cooling system
  • Tires
  • Brakes
  • Windshield
  • Air filter
  • Engine tuning
  • Computers and electronics
  • Glove box
  • The driver

A small amount of time before a trip can save a lot of money and prevent a lot of issues that can occur during the trip.  With proper preparations and adequate time, the trip can be enjoyable and safe; plus, you’ll be prepared for almost anything, including the weather (which has been tough to prepare for this winter!).
Mastery offers other similar titles, such as Driving: Pre-Trip Inspection: A Circle of Safety, along with over 60 other titles on safe driving.
