The importance of employee training

According to Science Daily, changes in employee health and risk factors have a significant impact on work productivity.
The study, published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, said improved health, safety and working conditions will have a “cumulative over time” effect on productivity.
Between 2009 and 2011 researchers analyzed health assessments from nearly 97,000 workers.
“The key implication is that health improvements must be maintained over time so the productivity impacts can accumulate,” said the researchers.

Employee training is beneficial for more than just your company.

Employee training is beneficial for more than just your company.

Average health risks decreased “slightly but significantly” over the three years of the study.
Although worker safety and training is important in workplace environments, other factors can also have an effect on productivity. Some of these can include work benefits, recognition programs and flexible work schedules.
There are numerous benefits to employee training programs. Some of these include:

  • Better efficiency in job processes: Employee training can highlight issues that have arisen during previous employee training sessions and day-to-day activities. Training can change depending on employee feedback and overall results.
  • Increased employee motivation: Training can help employees learn job processes and understand their role in the company. This will then motivate them to work harder and fulfill their duty in the best manner possible.
  • Improved safety conditions: Employee training will educate employees on safe work practices, protective gear they should be wearing and practices they should be following. Following OSHA guidelines as well as company safety rules is of the utmost importance.
  • Reduction in employee turnover: If employees understand their jobs, they are more likely to do a better job. Completing tasks efficiently with good communication and collaboration will create a happy work environment. This may cause employees to stay in the company longer and remain happy doing so.
