Machine Guarding – Do You Use Safe Work Practices
Machine guarding is one of OSHA’s top 10 most frequently cited standards. Machine guarding falls under OSHA’s General Industry Standard 29 CFR 1910, Subpart O. When using machinery you must be aware of the guarding, and be certain none of the guards are damaged. Personal protective equipment should always be worn if applicable.
The course “Machines, Operators and Guards: Real Accidents, Real Stories” uses two stories of real workplace accidents to demonstrate the importance of safety when working with machinery. The course discusses the importance of inspecting equipment, reporting damaged equipment, and wearing personal protective equipment.
This course demonstrates the reality of unsafe work practices, helping to increase awareness of safety procedures and avoid workplace accidents.
The guy in the picture is so careless because he haven’t good appropriate protections for bare hands. I have a look the content of OHS training and it is quite simple and helpful to prevent accidents in workplaces,
I think you are correct, being safe is simple. With the proper training and by being conscious of safety precautions many accidents are preventable!
